On Wednesday the 29th of September, the school welcomed The Challenge Program to campus for an award ceremony in which 10 randomly selected Juniors and Seniors who fell within the top 10% of their class for meeting the criteria in 5 different categories were awarded monetary awards from Somerset Trust Bank. Categories for awards included STEM, academic excellence, academic improvement, attendance, and Community Service. Criteria is based on the Challenge Programs criteria as well as the reflection of the schools belief of which students qualify for the awards. Students were selected for the categories based on recorded documentation, school data, and teacher nominations. Students' names were then put into a random selection process to have a final winner chosen for each category as directed by the Challenge Award program. Many students fell within the top 10% of categories. The previous years Seniors had been awarded at the end of the school year, so last year's juniors and sophomores were awarded for their efforts this fall. This years Seniors were awarded as followed: Cody Bodes for Attendance, Cosette Curts for Academic excellence, Garret Schmidt for Community Service, Andrew Beeman for Academic Improvement, and Natalie Sines for STEM. This years Juniors were awarded as follows: Rebekah Dix for Attendance, Malia MArtin for Academic achievement, Kayce Cook for Community Service, Kammy Bittinger for Academic improvement, and Aidan Wiltrout for STEM.
