Welcome to Salisbury-Elk Lick
School District
Salisbury Elk Lick School District would like to welcome Mr. Richard Berkley as the new High School Principal.

Hello. My name is Richard Berkley and I am the new principal here at Salisbury-Elk Lick High School. I would like to take the time to introduce myself and share a few of my goals. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Frostburg State University in Health and Physical Education. I worked as a Health/Physical Education teacher for 13 years in Charles County Md., Philadelphia Public Schools, and Washington (Pa.) SD. I received my Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from California University of Pa, and worked as the PreK-12 Principal at the Turkeyfoot Valley Area SD from 2014-2016. Many of my goals align with the Salisbury-Elk Lick School District’s Pyramid of Achievement and I will continue to work with staff and students to increase achievement and ensure that our graduates are college and/or career ready. I believe that a positive school climate aids in student motivation, student achievement, and school pride. I want to ensure that all students, all families, and all community members are proud of their school district and support each other through the educational process. My goal is to raise school spirit, raise motivation, give back to the community, and provide a variety of educational experiences for each child. We have a wonderful staff here willing to go above and beyond to ensure that each student is receiving the best education he/she is entitled to. Open communication is a big key to educational success and I encourage everyone to keep the lines of communication open. Working together is the only way to ensure success. Please contact me at (814) 662-2741 with any questions, concerns, or ideas.

I don’t strive for average; I want OUR school, Salisbury-Elk Lick High School, to be #1!
