Grading Policies:

Homework Policy: Homework in first grade typically consists of reading stories, studying spelling words/sight words, guided reading or math papers. Homework will be written in your child's planner and any worksheets to be completed will be placed in their take home folder. I expect homework done on time, and written assignments are to be completed neatly. I will take late homework one day after the due date with a 20% grade deduction after that it is a zero in the gradebook.

Retesting Policy: If more than half of the class scores below 70% on a quiz/test the entire class will get a second chance to retake the quiz/test. If your child has an IEP and is required to retest if their score is below 60% they will be given the opportunity to do so. Any questions or concerns about quiz/test scores please contact me via email or phone.

Quarter Grades: Quarter average grades are determined for classes from the grading of quizzes, tests, classwork, and homework.

Tests/Quizzes will be graded using the regular grading system.
