My name is Kim Miller and I am the second grade teacher at Salisbury.
I have a BS degree from Frostburg State University in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. The majority of my teaching experience has been in 1st and 2nd grade, but I also braved one year in 5th grade. I was grateful for the experience of teaching 5th, but prefer the younger kids and the energy they bring to the classroom. I enjoy being a part of a small school and being able to get to know the students personally. I have been a member of the school's Student Assistance Team for over 15 years and take a sincere interest in our students' lives. I believe as teachers we need to not only educate "our kids", but also help them through life's struggles when needed and encourage them to become the best person they can be.
I am married and have two grown sons. We like going to sporting events, yearly trips to the beach, visiting relatives in other states, and the simpler things like playing card games, going for walks, or just sitting around the table or a fire sharing life. Some of my favorite things are reading 📚 , chocolate 🍫 , ice cream 🍦 , and the Pittsburgh Penguins 🐧.
I love my job (most days😉) and am blessed to work with many great educators and staff at Salisbury.
